Colored Stamped Background
Hello Altenew Fans!
It's Terhi Koskinen here for the very first time. I'm super excited to be part of Altenew Family, and to celebrate this first personal post I decided to step to the stamping world and colored this beautiful Just Because Stamp Set to create a colored stamped background. I kept my personal style and tiny bits of mixed media, as always.
As I'm new when it comes to coloring, I picked up this very detailed flourish to color. This way I didn't need to worry about how real or unreal the flowers and leaves look.
The coloring was so much fun! I went a little out of lines and mixed glitter gel pens and regular pencils. Going outside of the line doesn't matter, in my opinion. In fact, I actually added some splashes on top to make the whole page more arty.
To distract from all of the hard black lines of the stamps, I added some leaves cut with the Doodled Blooms Die Set. I used black marker to draw lines around each edge to make them pop.
So all in all, coloring stamps to make a unique background for your layout is fun and quick. Just let your inner artist sing, and let go! If you end up with mistakes, add an embellishment or splashes on top and you'll have a beautiful page in front of you.
Hope you are inspired and have a go at creating a colored stamped background yourself! It's super easy and fun and creates such a unique layout. Even switching out the colors you use will change the whole look of the page.
