Graffiti Scribble Stencil as Stitching Template
Hello there. Enza here and I am so excited to share with you my very first post on the Altenew blog. One of the techniques I love to use on my pages is hand-stitching. It adds so much texture without being overwhelming, which I like. Stitching templates can be created in different ways. Today I want to focus on using stencils as a guide.
The new Graffiti Scribble stencil is fun and very versatile. I created a diagonal design with it by using a mini ink blending tool and the Altenew Crisp Ink in Caramel Toffee. Once I had my background ready, I pierced holes in between the stencil lines and just stitched with white colored thread. I could have also stitched along the actual lines to give my layout a richer look, but I was happy with just that little bit of extra texture.
I then fussy cut the gorgeous floral piece and a few butterflies from one of the patterned papers in the Reflection Scrapbook collection. I adhered all the pieces down with foam dots for extra dimension.
My goal was to keep the layout clean and simple. I layered the photo with a variety of patterned papers from the same Reflection collection and just added a few embellishments and sentiments on the opposite corners of it to achieve a balanced look.
